Toyota SUPRA RZ ’97

I already made the awesome top speed supra, but now here is a dedicated 1/4 mile drag tune. The Supra is very fast and has tons of power, but it’s one big weakness is that it is FR. It’s hard to get all that power onto the ground. At first when I was working on a drag tune the tires would spin and create smoke for the entire course. It was awesome and funny, but obviously was wasting a lot of power and could be going faster. I have changed the tune around a bit and managed to harness all those ponies. I still think it can be faster, but without an actual drag testing track it’s pretty difficult to tell if the small adjustments are making things better or worse.

try comfort hard in the front and racing soft in the back & do u ever go online or just tune because i would like to try my tunes vs you tune (BTW i’m terrible at tuning)

    • Pretty much tune. Rarely go online but get asked all the time.

Love this tune, its my go-to drag car. But is there any way that I can decrease the wheelspin at the start because that seems to be the only thing stopping me from beating a couple of cars.

    • You can but it means hours of testing and re-tuning.

      • Zac Price

        What gear launch btw?

        • Probably 2 or 3. Test both and see. Usually rear wheeled drift cars start in higher gears to avoid excess wheel spin while 4wd cars can start on gear 1.

Hmmm, i think im a bit confused with this starting in higher gear stuff. Is there some trick to it? Because im just starting super slow. Or maybe I dont know the ethics of drag racing yet..

            Can you give some tips?

          • It’s probably gear 2 then. If you start in 3 for example and it doesn’t really move then it’s the gear below to start. Most drag tunes I have you step on the brakes or hand brake while holding the gas and nos at the same time and release the brakes to go. Many times the tires will spin like crazy until you shift up.
