Shelby GT350 ’65

Old school Shelby Mustang GT350 1965. Possibly the most iconic muscle car ever. This is the regular model, but there is also a GT350R which this tune will probably work on just fine. Before I even get into anything I’m gonna tell you right now I love this tune. It’s so weird to me when muscle cars handle great. This car has lots of power yet drives so smooth. I call this the “half gas” car since I’m pretty much always only pressing half way on the gas around the corners. It’s still a muscle car so very possible to spin up the tires, but if you know how to drive that shouldn’t be an issue. Original pony car tuned by Shelby. P.S. I got a couple awesome shots of this car at higher resolution on the Team Shmo Tumblr

Also check out this awesome American Muscle Shelby T-Shirt. Comes in multiple colors. A must for any true muscle car fans.

I’ve been using Clio V6 24V ’00 and then switched to the tuned version of the Shelby above. It feels like there’s a lot of understeer, though otherwise it’s super stable. Is this normal?

    • I don’t get it? You used one car and now you use another car and they drive differently?

Sorry, I worded that funny. I’m used to driving the Clio which corners normally for a rear wheel drive. Before I tuned the Shelby using the above tune it drove much more loosely and very much like a FR. Now it drives more like a FF with a lot of understeer. How can I correct that?

        • Two options. The first is adjust your driving style. You are braking too late and slamming too hard on the gas once you exit a corner. Option two is add less rear toe. Move it to the left by about 10 and give it a test drive. See how it feels and drop it more and more until you like it.

Thanks very much. I’m going to use both suggestions!
