KTM X-BOW R ’12

This tune in particular was tuned on the DS4. Please note, I’m horrible on the DS4! Which is actually a good thing in this case! If I can get this car to drive properly (as horrible of a driver I can be on the DS4) Then everyone else should be able to handle her no problem!

Lucky for us, I know a thing or two about tuning! It will take me forever and a day to explain everything but to simplify it, I actually got the damn thing to stick to the ground!

As long as your approach isn’t too fast, you will not experience any OVERsteer! If you have the tires planted mid corner, you can actually get on the throttle earlier! No OVERsteer through Power-Over

The balance is there, as in: even if the rear end of the car wants to swing out, the front end UNDERsteers to an amount that counters rear-end OVERsteer.

At the end of the day, this car, with this tune… In the Premium Sports Lounge Race 1 Event… Guaranteed Easy Win and easy money!

Step 3: Set 6th Gear to the right

– the value for 6th gear should match Auto-Set
– Because there are other cars in this race, we will be drafting them, there for, 190 is the new speed setting we want for 6th gear.
– Do not touch 6th gear after its been set all the way to the right
– Fine Tune 6th gear by sliding Final Gear.

Step 4: Set Final Gear to 3.190

    I used this tune and was raking in the XP. Came home today and found update 1.23 and went to grind the Blue Moon race and now the XBow does donuts at the slightest provocation. I was hitting turn three in sixth at half throttle with ease. Now I spin out in fifth doing hardly over a 100mph. Anyone else notice this? Is it so important to the devs that nobody gets XP in this game?

    • You sure none of your settings changed? Tunes shouldn’t change that much with updates.

      • Frank McLaughlin

        Nope! I just read on GT Planet that they did indeed change the tires in the update. My 911 still won it easy enough but even it felt a little different. The X-Bow is useless to me as it stands now. Have you tried yours at BMB since the update?

        • Changed the tires as in for that one race? Or you mean they changed something to do with all tires that affects all cars?

          • Frank McLaughlin

            Throughout the whole game

          • Hmm ok, I will look into it

          • Frank McLaughlin

            “8. Physics Simulation Model
             - The Tyre Simulation Model has been adjusted: handling during acceleration, deceleration and cornering have changed;
            – The differences in grip power due to tyre temperature variations in races where the “Tyre Wear” option is enabled have been adjusted;
             - In “Sport” mode, “Lobby”, and “Custom Race”, the amount of grip reduction when the [Grip Red. on Wet Track/Track Edge] option within the [Race Settings] is set to “Real” has been adjusted. (When set to “Real”, the grip reduction when picking up debris on tyres from driving off track, etc. will be more severe and it will take longer to recover grip compared to before);
             - The handling of Formula cars when using the DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller has been adjusted;
             - With this update of car’s physics simulation model, the rankings of “Driving School”, “Mission Challenge”, and “Circuit Experience” has been reset. (This will not affect a player’s level progression).”

          • I asked around and many people are saying the F1 car they added is the reason. It now grips great but other cars just slide like crazy. I have been told it takes a couple laps to warm the tires which helps and if you touch the grass you have to drive a bit to get them clean and sticky again. I’m hoping enough people complain and they fix this as it isn’t really a good update.
