Get Coached by Lewis Hamilton in Gran Turismo Sport

Gran Turismo Sport is not holding back this time. There has been many delays, but the GT Sport launch is almost here. First was the announcement of a demo, then a PS4 DualShock 4 remote controlled Nissan GT-R, and now they even have 3 time F1 World Champion, Lewis Hamilton.

In the latest GT Sport video, Hamilton is seen meeting Gran Turismo creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, and they begin to the play the game. Hamilton, naturally, decided to drive a Mercedes GTS race car since he is a Mercedes driver. He is also using the brand new Thrustmaster T-GT wheel that was announced along side GT Sport a few months ago.

Lewis Hamilton said:

I have been playing Gran Turismo since I was a child, so to actually be part of the gameplay design has been an incredible experience.

Hamilton isn’t just playing this game for fun. As the video goes on you can see they have dedicated a who section to him. This history section goes over his whole life and eventual racing career. Gran Turismo games have always tried to incorporate not only cars but the history behind them. GT Sport is trying to take things to a new level by including much more about the racing drivers, too.

Also, players won’t just be reading about Hamilton, but will be able to learn directly from him.

Lewis Hamilton will reveal his driving philosophy, techniques, and his way of life through driving images and interviews for the players of Gran Turismo Sport. His driving footage, theories and episodes will provide valuable advice to many players who strive to be just as fast and strong as the Maestro himself.

Gran Turismo Sport is not going to be another regular racing game. They have made it clear this game will change the way racing video games are forever. The way they have done this is by creating an online racing competition between all the players in the world. Basically, they will constantly race against other players until the top drivers race against each other in the final competition. The top three winners will be able to stand on the real life winners podium along side actual racing drivers like Hamilton.

There are a ton of amazing drivers out there in the world. It makes sense Gran Turismo is trying to help everyone get better. I can’t really think of a better way to improve your racing ability then directly from an F1 World Champion like Lewis Hamilton.
